But first, how do I know I have understood what they are feeling? And second, how do I know the feeling is not carrying them somewhere they need to go? Love doesn’t always need to turn on the light. Sometimes it is enough to sit beside someone while their eyes adjust.

Everyone is emotional. Some people express it openly, some hold it in until it speaks through other parts of their life, and some release it through action and let it pass. The difference is not who feels more, but where the feeling goes.

Sometimes prayer is not asking life to change. I convince you that being seen is more dangerous than staying silent. The moment you name me, I begin to lose my power. What am I? @Mailiis guessed correctly, test yourself before looking. ✨

The Writer’s Table - Week 7 🥇 #1 goes to @mel ୨୧⋆.˚for 01: the inter…

The Writer’s Table - Week 7 🥇 #1 goes to @mel ୨୧⋆.˚for 01: the internal monologue. Mel takes something as familiar as the voice inside our heads and makes it feel strange enough to examine again. The piece moves effortlessly between psychology, philosophy, and everyday experience, exploring why some people think in words while others experience thought through images, sensations, or pure knowing. What impressed me most was how accessible it remained. Mel never sacrifices depth for clarity. The idea that we can observe the voice in our heads, and therefore may not actually be that voice, opens the piece into a much larger question about identity: who is speaking, and who is listening? A perfect example of how a complex subject can become an inviting conversation when the right writer gets hold of it. Congratulations, Mel. The Writer’s Table Week 7 winner. 🎬👏

The Writer’s Table - Week 7 🥈🥉 #2 goes to @Torrie for When Yesterda…

The Writer’s Table - Week 7 🥈🥉 #2 goes to @Torrie for When Yesterday Borrows Tomorrow. This is a perfect example of what clarity and intelligence can create. Torrie begins with a cold cup of coffee and a baking pan, then uses those ordinary moments to explain how the brain predicts what comes next based on what has happened before. The piece becomes much bigger than predictive processing. It shows how easily yesterday can enter a new relationship, conversation, or opportunity before the present has had the chance to prove itself. A short, scientific, and practical read. #3 goes to @Valentina for When Did Being Myself Online Start Feeling Like a Content Strategy? This is extremely relevant to anyone who creates online. Valentina writes about the moment authenticity starts becoming another performance, shaped by trends, metrics, and what we believe people will respond to. I love when creators put their own voice into their work, and this was such a strong example of that. The piece also makes a beautiful case for having pillars instead of forcing yourself into one narrow niche. A person is not a category. They are a pattern. Please visit their profiles to read and support both pieces. These were two of the strongest submissions this week, and both deserve far more eyes.

Family photographs are strange.
